An automated device for detecting the total microbial concentration in a water sample. The Biocounter system allows frequent sampling, up to 96 measurements cycles to be made per day.

The device is fully automated, only requiring the replacement of reactants after 21 días. Capacity for remote data capture (off site). An alarm is generated, if the microbial concentration exceeds preset threshold levels. Samples thet elicit an alarm are automatically stored for posterior analysis. Short analysis time. High measurement frequency. Low cost per analysis cycle. Good correlation with laboratory techniques.
